About the Guest
Robert Michaels is the “CEO/Founder of Serve & Protect, an organization dedicated to the spiritual and emotional needs of police officers and firefighters, based in Brentwood TN. In launching Serve & Protect, Michaels returns to his roots. He served in law enforcement first with the 229th Military Police Battalion of the Virginia Army National Guard, as well as with Norfolk (VA) Police Department, both on patrol and in the detective bureau.

By design, Serve & Protect is unique in the outworking of their mission – serving the spiritual and emotional needs of who Michaels calls “Homeland Heroes.” The Serve & Protect distinction is seen in their combined services and partnerships into an alliance forged to bring together the best partners with services, and leaders in specific areas pertinent to those who serve & protect our communities across the nation. “We are called to collectively be change agents,” Michaels reflects. “Working together to serve our Homeland Heroes to save lives, serve families, and offer hope and relief in the chaotic world we serve where trauma, stress, and PTSD is a harsh reality.” The primary Serve & Protect distinctive is their Crisis Line, forged through their first partnership joining forces with Safe Call Now crisis line. Michaels comments, “Our partnering of a crisis line and our chaplain services is an effective pairing, providing two levels of care for those in need, and if treatment is needed, the ability to facilitate such help and also provide backend follow-up.”
